Arrangement finalised to hold General Election-2013 in Larkana

LARKANA: District Returning Officer (DRO), for Larkana district Mr. Imdad Hussain Khoso, who is also the District & Sessions Judge Larkana, said that all errangements to hold free, fair, impartial and peaceful General Elections-2013 on Saturday have been made.
While talking to newsmen here on Friday evening, the DRO Larkana said that all the necessary election material has been dispatched to the polling stations of two National Assembly seats and four Provincial Assembly seats in the four talukas of the district.
The election material included transparent ballot boxes of white and green colours, ballot papers, rubber stamps, indelible ink, cloth bags, etc.
He said that the election material has been dispatched under tight security of the army, ranger and police teams through safe transportation up to the destinations.
Imdad Hussain Khoso said that his team also included Additional District & Sessions Judges, Senior and Civil Judges, Judicial Magistrates, who have been assigned the task of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers.
In addition 533 Presiding Officers (POs), 1058 Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), 1400 Polling Officers and 86 Naib Qasids for female Polling Stations have been deputed to conduct the general elections-2013 at 1314 polling booths in 505 polling stations in the District.
He further said that all the required polling staff has also been transported to the relevant polling stations throughout the District. Proper arrangements have also been made for the watch and ward of the election material particularly for tonight and till start of polling on Saturday morning.
He said that a control room has also been set up in his office at Larkana to monitor the polling throughout the day at 505 polling stations in four(4) talukas of Larkana. This control room is supervised by him and assisted by Senior Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates.
DRO Larkana further said that he will also visit different polling stations in the district to personally check the polling process.
